Sounds like he is knocking Manningham huh…..
What? No! What is wrong with reading comprehension in America these days? My god. Carr said they usually don’t throw to the receiver running that route in practice. That route is the third option and usually won’t end well if thrown at. In this case, Manningham was the route runner. Eli, who felt like Chung was cheating towards the other side of the field all game, knew he needed to make something happen. So he took a chance, threw to the receiver running the play’s most dangerous route, and nailed him. Carr couldn’t believe he had the guts to make the throw, but was totally impressed that he hit it. It was never a knock against any player. Just a back-up QB admitting he’d never have the stones to make that throw.
